Acrylic nails safe or no?

is it a health risk to get acrylic nails? can you catch diseases or virus' from getting them?

yes they are safe, as long as the instuments and the hands of the tech are sterilized. Avoid "chop shops" (the run of the mill nail shop on every corner.) for a small extra cost, you can go to someone who won't use drills and such on your nails. The drills are what make your nails thin, like others have said. I'm not going to tell you acrylic is a good thing, even tho it looks pretty.. Acrylic penetrates 7 out of 10 layers of nail. Another thing to consider is IF (god forbid) you ever are in the ER the have to rip a nail off to get a pulse...this is only in a very critical situation, but there is still a risk.

GOOD LUCK.
hope they come out pretty!

There safe aslong as the tools and instuments are clean and sanitary the only thing that is bad about them is that they make your nails extremely thin.

i have had acrylic nails for so long now. it never cause me any trouble at all. a virus to your nails can be caught with or without them, they do not increase the risk.

depend son the salon and the technician . Some places are clean and others are not. some technicians sterilize their equipment before and after each client , others do not.

Yes !

yes it would depends if the tools used are clean,& plus they last longer

its safe.... as long as the place doing them is clean. i been doing mine for yrs. every so often i have to keep them off to let my nails air out and grow. they get real tender and thin. good luck
