Can u get a disease if u eat ur nails?

Can u get a disease if u eat ur nails?

what??i don't think so...haha.was rubbing my eyes when i saw this question.i don't think you'll get a disease.they are made of proteins...so maybe u're probably eating nutrition...yup.about the germs part, i think so.

Not a disease, but more like germs, as in fungus...

Yea its called Gonaherpasypalaids........

If your hands are dirty.

I've never heard anything like that in my life..how could you catch a disease from yourself??

Of course especially if ya got n e thing under em scratch ya butt er something lol you get little parasites under those finger nails can do all kinds of nasty things to ya

Probably, from the bacteria that gathers underneat your nails

I don't know about a disease, but you'd get a mighty big iron supplement!
(Get it? Nails? Ok, nevermind. I'll keep my day job).

I'm sure you can get something. Your nails are probably the dirtiest part of your body ,as the fingers are touching everything. Surfaces can have salmonella, e-coli, etc. It really is a dirty habit and you should try to break it.

Only if you scratch your *** first!!

If your hands are dirty. But seriously, surgeons have found nail clippings and other gross things caught in appendixes when they've taken them out.

yup of course..diarrhea,parasitism and teeth cavities

Worms - at least thats what my Dr. told me many years ago and he even showed me pictures.

Of course, he may have just been making it up to stop me from biting my nails.

um.......not really. You can get this thing called "pin worm". You get it cause of the dirt under your finger nails. Its when little white worms come out of your buttox. I know its really gross. I read about it in a flier in the doctors office.

Crunch, crunch, crunch. Do you bite your nails? Some kids and adults do this, especially when they're feeling nervous. But it's not a healthy habit. Here's why:

Your fingernails have a couple of big jobs to do. They protect your fingertips and make it easier for you to pick up tiny things, like loose threads. They also come in handy when you have an itch that needs scratching.

But when you bite your nails, your nails aren't there to do those things. And by biting them, you are breaking the skin and maybe bringing germs into these openings in your skin. In fact, some people bite their nails and cuticles down so far, they bleed! When germs invade, you can get an infection.

Speaking of germs, there are germs under your fingernails, so when you bite them, those germs can go into your mouth. Think about all the icky stuff you touch all day long, like your baby sister's drool-dripping pacifier, your stinky gym socks, or slimy earthworms for your science project. You don't want those nasty germs getting in your mouth.

If you want to stop biting your nails, good for you! You can ask your mom or dad to buy you a special nail polish that makes your nails taste awful. This can help you learn to stop biting them. It also may help to keep your nails trimmed and looking good - so good you don't want to chomp on them!

You can get pin worms. They eat out your butt. And you can get infections from the dirt if to much gets under their. Thats what happened to my cousin's child!
