Big tow pain,sweeling etc? |
well my husband started complaining his toe was hurting yesterday, like a hair was pulling or poking in his sock etc... (he is generally healthy, doesn't have any diseases etc) well last night he awoke in pain.He poked the spot that was hurting to relieve the pressure. Now, His big toe is swollen, reddish, leaking pus and hurts to the touch. What could this be? it is not near the nail but from the joint up towards the nail. maybe bit by a spider?? It is most likely a fracture. Stress fractures are very common on toes and feet but the way that you are describing it, it may be a compound fracture. I reccomend seeing a doctor straight away. You should never leave a broken bone untreated. I wanted to say gout, which is very painful & attacks the toes mostly. Its caused by too much uric acid in the blood. Eating cherries helps or the doctor can give you something else. But since you said their was pus coming from it, that means their is an infection, likely around the nail. He needs to see a doctor. definatly an infection. Could be a fracture or bone spure. Get him to the hospital or doctor asap. You dont mess with pus. |
