Please help me, I'm freaking out!!!? |
Yesterday, I went to get my nails done with my friend. Well, the woman accidentally pricked my finger with the cuticle cutter. Anyway, I bled for awhile. It was still bleeding a little bit a few hour later. Anyway, a few minutes after she cut me I went and washed my finger/hands in soap and water. Then a little bit later I used a wet nap on it. A few hours later, I washed my hands again and put bactine on it, Plus that "New Skin" clear band aid. My question is, Do you think I caught AIDS? I've never been cut before at a nail place. It looks kind of slightly greenish/bruised/brownish/drie... bloody like (but not much). Then I noticed another cut hours later, but it wasn't that bad. I had washed that one earlier, But put bactine and that clear bandage on it hours later. I know I'm paranoid. But do you think I could've caught a disease like AIDS or gangrene? Should I go to a doctor? Do they ususally sterilize tools at nail places? Cuz this woman just pulled stuff out of a drawer. Do you think she sterilized it before she used it on me? It wasn't wrapped in plastic or anything. It's not likely that you caught AIDS but you could get a bacterial or fungal infection, or there is a very slight chance of catching Hepatitis. Those places are known for not sanitizing their equipment, that's why I don't go anymore. They say your best bet is to use a place that sells you your own set of equipment. Or one that opens up a sterilized package of new tools for every customer. It couldn't hurt for you to go to the Dr. and get put on antibiotics, bacterial infections is the most likely consequence of getting cut there. Keep it clean and keep Neosporin on it. Good luck, most likely you will be fine. You definitely can't catch HIV that way - it doesn't survive outside the body for more than a few seconds. It's possible you caught a very minor infection, but I doubt its anything to worry about. If going to a doctor will make you feel better than go, it certainly won't hurt! I SUGGEST YOU GO TO A DOCTOR SOON!!! Yeah that other guy was right...the HIV virus simply doesn't last long in the environment. UV radiation destroys it.. You're fine. . At the worst you can get a bacterial infection, but I seriously doubt you will get one because you washed your hands immediately. If it gets red and inflamed, go get it checked out, otherwise, no worries. i have no idea but i think you may be over reacting a bit...just wait till you talk to your doctor..take a deep breath and chill..everything will be fine i am sure |
