Please help, I'm freaking out!!!? |
Yesterday, I went to get my nails done with my friend. Well, the woman accidentally pricked my finger with the cuticle cutter. Anyway, I bled for awhile. It was still bleeding a little bit a few hour later. Anyway, a few minutes after she cut me I went and washed my finger/hands in soap and water. Then a little bit later I used a wet nap on it. A few hours later, I washed my hands again and put bactine on it, Plus that "New Skin" clear band aid. My question is, Do you think I caught AIDS? I've never been cut before at a nail place. It looks kind of slightly greenish/bruised/brownish/dried bloody like (but not much). Then I noticed another cut hours later, but it wasn't that bad. I had washed that one earlier, But put bactine and that clear bandage on it hours later. I know I'm paranoid. But do you think I could've caught a disease like AIDS or gangrene? Should I go to a doctor? Do they ususally sterilize tools at nail places? Cuz this woman just pulled stuff out of a drawer. Do you think she sterilized it before she used it on me? It wasn't wrapped in plastic or anything. NO b/c all instruments(nail salon tools, tattoo guns etc..) that are sterilized after every use you should relax and if it hurts and looks infected go to the doctor. you can only get something if there was old blood on it and they are supposed to santize there files and stuff yeah you are a little paranoid...i think that the most you would get its an infection nothin life threatin but you said that you washed it and out bactine on it i wouldnt worry about it.. It is virtually impossible that you have contacted AIDS or any other disease. You probably either have an infection or you are irritating the cut by doing way too much to it. Let it heal on it's own. If it continues to hurt, or if it changes color, see your doctor. My guess is that it is just a cut. Yes they do typically sterilize there equipment, and you would not get aids from having an open wound unless there was infected bodily fluid on the wound, it probably is just infected ...get some neosporin. there's a VERY slim chance that you'd catch a disease like AIDS because it was little contact, also you have to have contact with someone who had it..not just a drop of blood will give it to you...its just like your mouth...you cant get aids from someone who has it by kissing them unless you have an open sore and they do.. First off....breathe.... it is very, very unlikely that you would have contracted any communicable diseases. If you went to a reputable nail place then they should be sterilizing the equipment between clients. They should also have asked you to fill out an incident report, and depending on how old you are (if you are a minor) you should have an adult go with you and go back to the salon and fill out a report of injury, (in case you do get an infection and need antibiotics, etc...) they should cover the cost of that. I would think if you are that worried about it you could always get tested (you'll need to get tested again in 6 months) but I would talk to your regular Dr. first and see what they say. Also Do Not assume that the salon will have your best interest at heart, they of course will only be concerned about themselves and not about your well being. go get a freakin tetanus shot. you cant "catch" gangrene. and aids is transmitted through bodily fluids. There are dry Sterilization methods. It is against Board of Health regulations to use unsterilized tools, it will be sore, it is a cut. quit messing with it and go get a tetanus shot before you get lockjaw! if in three days it is swollen, Pusey, have any type of streaks or red lines in it you should go to the doctor, you will go nuts if you keep thinking like you are now, calm down, gangrene will take some time you wouldn't even have it in a few days, and aids would be really hard to catch from a tool that has to be sterilized. |
