Mystery illness..any suggestions to wat might be wrong w/ me? |
About a month ago, I woke up during the night and I started throwing up. I threw up about 10-12 times in about 8 hours. The next day I started to get excruciating pain in my legs, back and head. Then my nails turned blue and I almost stopped breathing. I went to the hospital by ambulence and when i got there my BP was really low (69/something). They gave me fluids but I didnt respond. After 3 days my BP came up to 100/70 and they let me go home. I am still unable to walk and my legs hurt really bad and I keep getting horrible headaches, bouts of dizziness, my knees swell sometimes and im really fatigued. I havent been back to school. I have had wierd episodes like this before. I saw a rhuematologist and they just told me to exercise (which I cant because i can't walk) The doctors have not been helpful. I have been tested for addisons disease and we are waiting for the endocrinologist to call back. Any other suggestions to what it might be? I was going to say addisons before I got to the end of your question. Addisons will cause fatigue, vomiting, nausea, low bp and severe crisis from stress. Had you been stressed prior to this happening? Either physically or emotionally? But many of your other symptoms point to a pituitary issue. Addisons means your adrenals aren't functioning OR your pituitary is not stimulating it. Since the pituitary oversees all your hormones, there could be more involvment of other glands. Muscle aches could be from low growth hormone. The headache could mean a tumor (almost always noncancerous) on your pituitary. If the endo says all these hormone levels are off you should insist on a pituitary MRI, not a brain mri because it does not always show everything. If there is a pit issue, see a pit endo specialist. Most endos don't know how to treat pit issues. Good luck. Good luck..hope you find some answers Report It sounds like a stroke to me. did they do blood to see if maybe its a clot? That is extremely scary! I can't believe you haven't gone crazy. Try and rest a lot, exercise might only get your symptoms worse. Of course i'm not a doctor...so I may be wrong. Drink a lot of fluids, try and relax, and go to several different doctors, to get different opinions. You may have an ulcer since you throw up a lot, keep your stomach full every 2 hours, and sleep. I hope this helps, I wish you luck! Maybe a neurologist would help too. Headach, dizziness, pain, weakness. If you are having trouble with keeping things down your potassium, sodium could be down too. I dunno girl. I have rare illness that only 1-250,000 people had and it took me more years than you can imagine to diagnose...but it took all sorts of doctors to figure it out. Go where ever you must and push ahead even if they say it is in your head, keep going. |
