I have myopia is it ok to use one contact only? I don't like glasses!?

Well, like, today I went to the eye doctor and well like he told me I had myopia. I thought I had a lazy eye but whatever. So, I only have myopia in my right eye, so my left eye see's perfectly. Ok, he also said I have very healthy eyes (I didn't really understand cuz if their healthy why do I have myopia?) I really want to wear contact lenses because glasses make me feel UGLY! He said it was ok and I would only have to use one contact lense, is that normal? Will it cause any problems? The lady who works there, also told me that once I use the contact I will see stuff more blue-ish but nothing bad. I was just wondering what you think... is it ok for me to wear one contact lense? My mom doesn't understand I hate the glasses (espically since she paid kind of alot of money for them, heck they only had designer glasses there so I don't know what she expected!) I really don't know anymore! I feel so hideous with the glasses.

Yes it is perfectly fine to wear one and follow Dr.'s instructions! You will need the glasses also so don't think they are wasted.

you will be fine wearing just 1 contact lens. the gasses will have 1 prescription lens and 1 that is normal (non prescription).
In your case I'd have though contacts for just 1 eye would work out cheaper than glasses.as your mum has already paid for the glasses see if you can compromise with her. by maybe wearing the specs in the evening when at home, assuming you can convince her about getting contacts..1 thing though with contacts you have to make sure you clean and remove them as often as you are told or yo could run into major problems with eye irritations and infections
I use contacts (both eyes) i HATE glasses but mainly because my sight is so bad the lenses in the glasses are very thick, and that's even if i fork out for super ultra thin lenses....... contacts work out cheaper for me but i also have a pair of specs i wear night times and sometimes weekends..
Mind a lot of people really suit glasses and look very attractive in them.........

1st of all...yes its ok to wear one contact lens. lots of people do it for lots of different reasons. unilateral myopia (nearsightedness in one eye) is certainly one of those.

"Ok, he also said I have very healthy eyes (I didn't really understand cuz if their healthy why do I have myopia?) "

b/c there is a big difference between a "DISEASED" eye and an eye with refractive error
