Is having hyperopia and myopia in both eyes common?

Let's start with vocabulary (hyperopia= farsightedness and myopia=nearsightedness).

I was slightly curious when I found out that my right eye is myopia and my left is hyperopia (it really irritates my eyes). I wear glasses so, that's not a problem. But, my main question is is this common? Having two different eye types at age 13? Or, will it even out as I get older? Because, from my eye-test results, they seem to be worsening everytime I go to get an eye exam, so, I was wondering if this is something that will become progressively worse, or, will become progressively better?

I have that also! I have met only one other person in my life (that I know of) that has it. Ironically, it was a woman who tested my eyes for a new job. I honestly don't know anything about how common it is or if it will get worse. (I'm 36 now and it has been about the same since my teens). I just never thought about researching it. I don't wear glasses either. I should, I suppose, but my eyes work together fine as long as one isn't covered up. Just one does more work than the other when looking close and the other works more when looking far away. I used to have glasses and it was strange to see with them at first because then BOTH of them were working at the same time for far and close. It took some getting used to. What sucked about that was when I took them off I couldn't see well at all because my eyes were trying to focus for the glasses. So I gave up wearing glasses and tried contacts for a while but I could only get one for my farsighted eye and it wouldn't stay in the right spot. So now, I just leave them alone and make sure that one isn't covered up while trying to look at anything. It seems to work fine so far.
