Should those with myopia not wear glasses when possible?

According to this website: (the very last section) http://www.i-see.org/eyeglasses_harmful/...

myopic glasses worsen the condition
im pretty younger still in my early teens
and im at about -6.5 diopters
and ive had glasses since 2nd grade
should i continue to wear them?
and is there any treatment/ way to slow down myopia?
thx guys

Both myths are out there:

"If you don't wear your glasses your eyes will get worse"
"If you wear glasses you'll just need stronger ones."

With a few rare exceptions leaning both ways, by and large it isn't an issue.
With an Rx of -6.5 (I hit -14.00)
doing closework without your RX is likely to be more strraining than having the Rx on and working at a relaxed distance. But even strainingm for the majority of people, leaves no permanent effect (except perhaps on mood)

For slowing dowm myopia a variety of things have been tried.
Rigid contact lenses appear to work in a proportion of cases, and this may also apply to the newer ortho-K type.

Prism control bifocals have also been claimed to have some success, but this method has never achieved wide accceptance, depite having some convinced and devoted practitioners.

I think that the story about wearing glasses making your eyes worse is an old wive's tale. If you are nearsighted, it is usually because the eyeball is slightly too long, or the cornea is slightly too convex. Wearing glasses is not going to change the shape of your eyes. Generally if someone is nearsighted, whether they wear glasses or not, their vision will get worse untill about age 20 or so, when it stabilizes (of course, there are exceptions). So when they start wearing glasses and there vision still gets worse, they blame the glasses. So wear your glasses and don't worry about it.

I took a look at the website; this guy is "full of it"; he is in dissagreement with pretty much every scientific study ever done on vision.
