How can i have less myopia? |
I am 13 yrs. old and i have a little bit more than -5, i wanted contacts so bad but i can't use them because i have a high risk of getting blind since i have alot of myopia!, I can't get a laser surgery, nor anything!!! What should i do??? Who told you that you cannot wear contacts because of your prescription? Contact lenses go much much higher in prescription than a -5.00. I can see you not being a candidate for LASIK as you are far too young but contacts are a totally different playing field. If you are being told by a doctor you cannot wear contacts then it has to be for a different reason than your prescription being to high (unless you have a huge amount of astigmatism). Realistically, you are not even considered an extremely high myope....that usually starts at about a -8.00 and goes much higher. Make sure you are getting your information from an optometrist not your family members. It sounds like you are being misinformed. You can't change your vision permanently without surgery. You can correct it by getting glasses. I have myopia to and have both glasses and contacts. I don't get why you can't get contacts talk to your doctor they make all kinds of contacts now. If you still can't get contacts get glasses there are so many cute frames to choose from. |
