How bad is a 0.25 myopia? Are glasses necessary? Would they help prevent it getting worse? |
I just had an eye test, and my prescription is 0.25 myopia, I was also told I have astigmatism. Do I need to wear glasses? Will they help? Incidentally - I believe some "eye doctors" will tell you that you need glasses when you don't, because they make money that way. I'm just looking for an honest/unbiased answer. In your case they prescribed you glasses mainly because you have astigmatism, -0.25 is very weak. 0.25 in ophthalmic terms is barely there...you are slightly nearsighted; astigmatism means your eye is misshapen slightly. My myopia is 2.00 and I am told this isn't considered that bad. You might be able to correct your vision with some simple exercises. it depends on your symptoms.... astigmatism can cause dizziness, nausea and bad headaches. if you have these then glasses can help you relieve it. |
