Post Partum Cardio Myopathy w/Congestive Heart Failure?

Has anyone here had Post Partum Cardio Myopathy w/CHF? I developed it when I delivered my daughter a year ago, when I was released from the hospital (for the heart condition) I was not put on any medications and had assumed I was fine (I did have a follow up after being released and the doctor said I had a small leak in my heart but acted like it was no big deal), however, I'm still having problems breathing (getting winded after only mild activity) and having heart palpitations- is that from the leak, or do you never fully recover from the condition? I'm really scared, I've always been healthy and athletic.

it seems to me that you started to have heart failure becuase PostPartumcardiomyopathy is a form of Dilated Cardiomyopathy which means the heart is enlarging, causing more & more leak acros the valves.
You must see the doctor immediatly to give 2 kind of medications
# 1 to alleviate your symptomes of shortness of breath.
# 2 to protect the heart ( a beta blocker)
please ask your family physician to refer you to a cardiologist soon.
I wish you get well soon.

I've been diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy since i was a baby. And in my case there is a leak in the valve..
You will fell lethargic, tiredness, hard to breath and that u have mentioned above. I've been in a situation so worst that they had to put a mechanical heart inside me. But thanks to God, I've undergone my heart transplant and now live healthy until now.
