I've had a myocardial infarction. I'm planning to fly to Africa from China?

After arriving in/to Africa, I plan to travel in a bus to 3,300 meters, to a town where I shall live, at 2,200 meters.

Is this a safe thing to do?

I'm 67 years young, and had my myocardial infarction about a year ago.

living at heights above sea level such as you mentioned can put an increased stress on the heart due to diminished oxygen availability check with your physician or cardiologist to ensure this is a safe thing to do if you are physically fit the risks may be minimal

After having an MI, or heart attack, you should be able to resume normal activities as long as you get it cleared by your doctor. Talk to him/her first, if you're concerned, but you should be ok.

check with your physician? when did you had an MI? just be careful.. if you have a prescribe medication, take it with you...

I agree with the previous excellent answers, but you better know what kind of medical care is available where you plan to live. You did not say whether you were going to a modern area or a more remote and secluded area where facilities might be limited and language barriers exist. If the latter is true I would discourage your plans
