About chest pain....?

My mother suffers from chest pain, maybe from the heart for a very long time now. This happens when she is depressed or sad and angry. This dissapears when she rest for a while after the anger or depression. Also, when she exerts physical effort like going u the stairs going to the fourth floor. She takes a beta-blocker whenever she fells pain (medicines ending in "olol").Someimes, the pain may last for a week then dissapears. Her last doctor visit was about 8 years ago. She is a stubborn kind of person who seems to be very busy for that. She is 49 years old, working in our store. Her is moderate, not so heavy. What must be done for this? What can I do o make her subject herself to examination? Could this develop in sudden Myocardial Infarction and sudden death?

tri to get mecaments

check her ribs...some ribs can masquerade as chest pain.
Often aggravated by twisting and bending

Anginal pain for a week? That seems highly unlikely, but she obviously needs a complete cardiac assessment. If it were sever anginal pain, sudden death could occur of course, but no one know if it is.

Sounds anxiety related, not a heart condition.

It is not angina, as after rest pain should be relieved in Angina.
It may be psychological, i feel.

1)beta blocker medicine which she is taking must be taken regularly , not only when she feels pain
2)try to reduce the salt in diet, use olive oil in your diet(as it is safe for the heart)
3)take plenty of fruits, salads in your daily meals
4)try to avoid non vegetarian
5)ask her to do about 20 mins per day of easy exercises like walking(in open space),,10 mins in morning and 10 mins in evening
6)keep her busy in work even when she is not in store
7)learn relaxation techniques like yoga classes or such
8)listen to music of her choice, rather than watching tv

Dr.Vaswani

She is taking Atenolol which reduces blood pressure, and the heart's oxygen requirements. In addition to Dr Vaswani's advise, she should take a daily low dose aspirin. If her cholesterol is high she can also take some niacin (not timed release). Regular exercise and weight loss will help too.

If it's caused by exertion, it's more likely angina. How has she been getting her perscription filled if she hasn't been to the doctor in 8 years. She needs to go in for a good exam. Perhaps showing genuine concern and telling her that you love her and are worried would encourage her to make an appointment.
