Myeloproliferative Disorders?

I found out yesterday that my dad has a myeloproliferative disorder and he is having a bone marrow biopsy to determine which disorder he has. I believer there are 5. I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about any one of the disorders. Personal experiences would be great but any information is appreciated. I curious about survival rate and quality of life.
