My friend's husband has just been diagnosed with myasthenia-gravis and has been told it's not curable. Try going onto WebMD..you'll get lots of info.

Myasthenia gravis (no hyphen) is a problem with nerve impulse conduction and as a result the muscles are chronically fatigued and weak, especially the facial and throat muscles. It isn't curable but it is treatable with bed rest and anticholinesterase medications. Emergency respiratory assistance may be required if the patient has an MG crisis.
