Can i get Muscular Dystrophy?

I'm 13 and my mom has Muscular Dystrophy does that mean i can still get it and if so what can i do to stop it or slow it down.

PS. I'm a boy

check out this link below. It should answer a lot of questions. MD can be hereditary but you need a lot of info before you worry. I also believe if you talk to your mom or dad they can help a lot. If not have one of them call your family dr. he or she can explain in detail.
Good luck!

If you don't have it now you will not have it. You can't just catch it from someone.
