Can dsyphraxia be linked with muscular dystrophy duchenne?

my son has dsyphraxia not overly severed mostly just in his speech, and i am also a muscular dystrophy carrier (duchenne) he was tested whilst in the womb and also when he was one and they came out fine i was just wondering if anyone knows if they might be linked thats all

That's a very interesting question, especially considering that muscular dystrophy mainly affects boys, and dyspraxia is more common in males, as well as them both involving muscular dysfunction... I've done a quick literature search (pubmed, medline), which revealed nothing about a possible link. They do appear to have separate etiological and biological origins though, with dyspraxia likely being a dysfunction of neural connections, while DMD is more of a killing/atrophy of muscle fibres, i.e. dyspraxia is a brain dysfunction, DMD a muscular dysfunction. This does not exclude the possibility of a relationship however, and it may be of interest to researchers in the field of movement disorders...

All the best, hope that helps somewhat!
