Muscle Strain?? |
I was at basketball practice a few days ago and when I was sprinting I got a muscle cramp in my right calve and my left quadricep simultaneously. My calve healed, but I have a little pain in BOTH quadriceps, suprisingly my right quadricep is the one bothering me the most, the right one hurts a bit when I walk up the stairs, both of them hurt when I run, they hurt a lot when I sprint. I participated in a basketball practice 2 days after the initial cramps, and I am planning to just watch today's practice. Please help me make a diagnosis as to what this is, and also how to treat it. First thing is you need to uptake your sodium at practice to prevent cramping. It sounds like you did strain you quad, what you should do is go in and see some one that will massage your quad, it should only take a couple of visits and you will be feeling good again. You should see if you have insurance and go to a physical therapist to have them work out your quad. If you do go to a physical therapist make sure that they do deep massage to your quad. Sometimes they will just do some ultrasound and put some muscle stem on the muscles and that is it, that is not going to help you in the long run. Or you can just wait it out and it will heal on its own, it will just take longer. |
