Muscle Strain?

Hi I've had a muscle strain for last 2 and a half months it hasnt healed the first month a a half the pain was so bad i could only really lay in bed, Now ive only been diagnosed by a normal doctor this week that ive had one. The thing is i sweat and get muscle spasms anywhere from my calves to my neck. I read somewhere that these are symptoms of a severe muscle strain and probably needs surgery what do you think? What kind of tests should i request from my Doctor? BTW i did have MRI on my spine, blood tect ect and everything checks out fine.

Sorry cause he never did any diagnostic with a machine maybe its a muscle tear?

If you have not tried this already, use what they call "alternative therapy", basically massage therapy. You will not need surgery unless the spasms are linked to nerve issues, whether pinching or swelling. I had back surgery and had to deal with spasms, i had to work out a lot, even when hurting, to stretch out my muscles, take hot showers, and get massages. They were not that relaxing kind, but they did work out point inflammation, "knots" in my muscles, and allowed me to sleep (since the surgery and nerve damage, spasms did not let me sleep for more than 4 hours straight).

Talk to a doctor, let the Dr. know that you WILL seek a second opinion from a neurologist, a physical therapist and a chiropractor. The doctor will protest, but just get to the others, they will give you insight. The chiropractor will try and keep you and get you coming more, but limit visits to 4 times a year, unless directed by another doctor.

I pray this will help you and that God will heal you body. May God give your body rest.

you don't do surgery for muscle strain. You rest the affected muscle. Inadequate rest, poor healing and the other muscles surrounding become affected.
You get spasms after sweating because of low potassium, after sweating or while sweating eat a cup of canteloupe or three bananas.

A severe muscle strain doesn't need surgery, as far as my ex-perience has shown. If I were in your situation, I'd go to a physical therapist, massage therapist and/or acupuncturist for a diagnosis and treatment. Check with them as to what they think you need regarding further tests and then discuss those with your doctor if the earlier therapy hasn't helped. Have you tried alternating ice packs (15 minutes ONLY) with moist heat packs (again, 15 minutes ONLY)? That would help the spasms in the meantime. Best of luck!

Spine surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her Spine surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 25 % of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange spine surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as Spine and other orthopedic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
