Is this a muscle strain? |
I fell off a horse today - and I went to the ER - they did x-rays and I didn't break anything. But I hit the ground hard. I first felt pain by my lower back - then on my right hip - which is what I fell on - the horse was running when I fell. It feels like the muscles don't want to expand and move for me when I do, they feel tight and it is worse with the ice - but they said i must do it for swelling... I am very stiff and I am starting to get sore in more places. I also feel like I want a back adjustment. They gave me vicodin but it only helped a little for about 2 hours. I can take it every six. They told me to ice it and I just put on icy hot. So with the way I hit the ground - is it a muscle strain? I would like a name for the injury so I can look it up more online.... Muscle strains are possible and very unexpected depends how u fell.but a fact is you probably did strain something but it goes away in a few days. Sounds like a bruise. You probably bruised your bone as well as the surrounding muscle. Follow the doctor's recommendations, you'll be fine in a few days. you could of bruised your back but aggravaited the sorrounding muscles just do as the doc says and you will be fine We can call it soft tissue injury. |
