Can you get mumps twice? It can happen. I'm 40 plus. I had the mumps when I was 3 years old. I had the 2 shot series of MMR when I was 12. This past week I was confirmed positive for the mumps via blood tests. The doctor called it a viral anomaly. Don't remember it when I was 3, but it sure has been painful at 40 plus, a major pain in the neck. no u can't get mumps twice as your body becomes immuned |

If you had mumps on both sides when you were 15 it is very unlikely you would have them again. If it was only one side, then yes you can get it on the other side.
