Mumps ????? |
Hi does annyone know if you can catch mumps more than once? i had them when i was 15 now im 33, one side of my neck is swollen and hurts. If you had mumps on both sides when you were 15 it is very unlikely you would have them again. If it was only one side, then yes you can get it on the other side. The glands that swell when you get mumps can become infected, it feels a lot like mumps but can be taken care of with an antibiotic. Hope this helps. check on the webMD or Mayo site for an answer. yes if you only had them on one side you can get them on the other.....if you had them on both sides at once then no you cannot get them again.....however, it is more likely that you have an infection perhaps sinus or throat and that is why your gland is swollen....if it continues beyond a few days then call your doctor and get it checked...good luck if your sure you had mumps when you where 15 then you should not get them again your friend should seek treatment they can leave a male with infertility at his age |
