Could i have the mumps?

A couple of weeks back my friends boyfriend got the mumps, my friend was in contact with him and last friday she was complaining of pain and discomfort in her neck. Earlier on today my neck stated to get really sore and i just found out a few hours ago my friend has the mumps! Is there any chance i have the mumps aswell? thanx x

You *could*, especially if it's been over ten years since your last immunization. The shot for mumps wears off just in time for it to be the most dangerous for young adults, affecting fertility as well as overall health.

I'd visit a doctor and see what he says. Good luck. Mumps really isn't too bad, it's easier when you're little, but it shouldn't be too bad.
