Multiple sclerosis and cancer?

I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) 8 years ago and was just recently diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS).

Does anyone know if the doctors have a way to tell how long the cancer has been in me? I'm trying to figure out if i'm on a downward spiral with the MS or if the recent MS flares are a result of having the cancer in my body.

My wife is stage 4.

They should be able to give you some sort of a time line on the cancer. And yes, other illnesses will exacerbate your MS flares.
