Anyone with Multiple Sclerosis have a motorcycle?

I always wanted another motorcyle (800 cc range). Is this a good idea anymore now that I have been dx'd with Multiple Sclerosis 8 months ago?

I have MS. The only one who knows what a person with MS can do is the person who has it since no two cases are the same. There are plenty of people with MS who live normal lives. If you are not having balance problems, short term memory problems, optic neuritis, or any other physical disability, driving a motorcycle is not a problem. Go take the test. You cannot put off living if you have MS on the basis of what the MS might do in the future. I have friends with MS who para sail, bungee jump and parachute. If I don't feel well on a particular day, I scale back my activities. If I feel well I do whatever I want. And that is what anybody who has this disease does. Go for it if you know you are capable. And if your MS gets bad, put it in storage. And once you are feeling good again, get it out of the mothballs and ride. Go have fun every chance you have. You know how unpredictable this disease can be so live for the day!

That would depend on how far it has progressed. If you can't control the bike under all conditions, then don't! I would find it hard to give up my bike, but I wouldn't want to risk losing control and hitting someone walking down the street, or some kid playing in his yard.

I was dx'd 8 years ago. But as you know, everyone with MS has MS differently. Unless your symptoms impair your balance, vision, or reaction time, then I can't think of why not.

I ride. If I'm having a bad day, all wobbly and stuff, I don't. MS is all about knowing your limits and adjusting what you do to accomodate them. It's not about quiting everything you like.
