Multiple myeloma my mom has it and she was wondering if any one else experienced a lot of pain with it ? |
She has just started her treatments and she ws also wondering what treatments any one else ahd if they had it. She does have three broken vertabreas in her back and is in a lot of pain. You might want to join a few online Multiple Myeloma support groups. People there will understand what your Mom is going through and be able to point her to treatment options and just lend support. They can be a critical source of information. Unfortunately myeloma can be very painful. As the cancer erodes the bone it's as if they have serious arthritis and every movement hurts. She needs to get pain medication. Sometimes it gets so bad the get hip replacements. Wish her all the best. Multiple Myeloma (MM) can cause vertebral fractures as well as other painful processes. Treatment with steroids and chemotherapy can reduce symptoms. I am a 47 year old female and I have Multiple Myeloma. I was diagnosed on Dec. 18, 2006. I have been on Thalidamide, which I take every day, and Decadron, a steroid. Starting next month I am off the steroid for now. |
