Multiple Myeloma - someone dear to me has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.?

Anyone has direct or indirect experience (conventional or alternative) with it, and want to share it. THANKS A LOT!

It is seriously cancer of your plasma so bone marrow trans. Stem cell replacement and radiation is all they can novel do.
It has a harsh prognosis esp. in latent stages and even w/ treatment. It is statistically an Afro-American/geriatric disease that makes your bones very brittle. I'm an R.N. II and Will not share my exp. b/c I cant out of LISA & I not giving false hopes lol
your creator calls the whistle not DR's know that. good luck to the patient and we will pray. For you too. LOL.

For a more balanced perspective, contact the IMF at http://www.myeloma.org/

They are a very sound organization, patient friendly and research based, that has great information about the disease.

Although myeloma is not a curable disease, in many cases it can be well controlled for years and years. There are a lot on new therapies on the market in the last 10 years that are making a huge difference in both the length of life and the quality of life for myeloma patients.

Best of luck to you and your dear one.
