Clomid/ raised hormone levels????

Anyone taken clomid and felt like you were going insane?? Anyway, my ovulation was at 9.5 before one month of clomid, and now it is at 18.6, which is awesome. So should I take it again this month or will it greatly increase my chances of multiple births, or if i stop taking it will the levels go back down. Just wondering

Both progesterone levels indicate that you ovulated. The higher level doesn't absolutely mean that you ovulated better. After ovulation, progesterone levels can vary between 3 and 40 within 20-30 minutes.

Higher levels can also mean that you ovulated more than one egg.

The multiple birth rate with clomid is 5-10%, with the vast majority being twins.

If you've been trying to get pregnant for 2 years and if you ovulate on your own, your partner has normal sperm and your tubes are open .... then clomid doubles your monthly expected pregnancy rate from approximately 2% per month to 4% per month.

If you don't ovulate on your own, your pregnancy rate is higher with clomid, because it's correcting the most-likely problem.

If you are 35 or older, strongly consider seeing a reproductive endocrinologist to ensure you are maximizing your chances of getting pregnant.
