Can I still take painkillers like advil while on birth control?

I have a headache, and I have a bottle of generic ibuprofen in front of me. But I'm also on birth control - your typical, multiple-hormone birth control pill (Levora, to be exact). Can I still take the ibuprofen? Are there any side effects? If so, what are they?

I just started on the pill, so I want to make sure that I don't do anything that'll accidentally make me sick. Some info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Yes you can very well take pain killers along with birth control pills. pain killers and birh control pills have different effect / purpose.

Shouldn't be a problem.

yes

Yes you can take any kind of pain killers you want on birth control.

yes you can, if you do get sick check up with the doctors it should just be a side effect of the Pill

Sure you can. There will be no adverse effects.

I took birth control pills for over 18 yrs & 15+ was a gymnast! Believe me - it is just fine to take Advil/ Ibuprofen. You can always call your local pharmacy, if you are ever questioning any medication and/ or side effects.
You may feel a little Wooosie for the first month or so. Hard peppermint candies to suck on, will help. If nausea persists longer than that, call your doctor.
Hope I helped......??

Hi Sweetie,
Absolutely it shouldn't have anything to do with r bc. I hope r headache goes away real soon. Taking something Hot to drink will make it melt & work faster for U. lol

Yes, you can take advil. You should be aware that if you take any antibiotics though, it will counteract with the pill and could cause your pill to become ineffective, therefore possibly leading to pregnancy. But painkillers such as advil, tylenol, and ibuprofen are perfectly safe.
