When can Multiple Sclerosis be detected?

Can it be detected before birth? At birth? As a child? As an adult?

The only way a neurologist candetect MS is through a spinal tap which ony takes about half an hour. MS cannot be detected through blood, or through MRI's. How do I know this you may ask? I was diagnosed with MS in 2004 after complaining months of major pain and numbness in my legs and stomache. After all those tests my doctor finally told me the only was MS can be detected is through a spinal tap. MS symptoms are similar to like Fiberneurolaga(sorry mispelled that). Most people who get MS are mainly women usually in their 30's or 40's, but there are some people women and men who are born with MS. Best of luck

Darling, if you think you may have it go and see a Neurologist ASAP!!! they can give you med to help with the syptoms

NO.
there must be a sign or a symptome that triggers investigations like sudden onset of double vision or a numbness somewhere on the body ...etc
this will lead to MRI ( which may show the lesion) or a lumber puncture that shows some biochemical signs.
