Epilepsy or movement disorder?

How do they tell the difference between the two? I have "fits" and the docs will send me to a neuro, the neuro will do a sleep deprived EEG, nothing happens during the EEG but I'll have the "fits" off and on for days after. Because nothing happens during the EEG the neuro always says movement disorder, but the reg. docs all say that does fit and eventually I end up back at the neuro. Who's right and are there better ways than a sleep deprived EEG to test?

I've had epilepsy since I was 12 and and EEG is not always going to be give the doctors the answer they want when when they want it. If you are having seizures of fits they just need to find out what meds are going to keep you stable so you don't have to keep going to the doctor for them to figure it out. If they can't figure it out between the two try a new neurologist for a second opinion.
