Why do i keep throwing up in my mouth?

i throw up in my mouth occasionally and i've never really addressed it as a problem. I just swallow it back down. However, today I've been throwing up small amounts very frequently...like between every 10-30 minutes. I just ate a can of mandarin oranges and I threw up about 1/3 of it all at once. That's the largest amount that's come up so far and that was the only time I couldn't swallow it back down. But it's still happening...it's almost like a burp, but most of the time nothing comes up. Why can't i keep my food down? Was it something I ate? or is it something like one of those reflux disorders?

maybe you have acid reflux.....does it burn??? If so, try Pepcid AC and consult a doctor.

It could be G.E.R.D. (acid reflux disease), or it could be a couple of other things one in which would be worth checking out--hiatal hernia. The stomach can move out of position and the valve that is suppose to stop things from coming up the esophagus doesn't do it's job properly.

There are tests that can quickly see if this is the case.

Sounds like reflux disorders, You might want to see your doctor, that many times brings up acids in your throat isn't good.

You should go to your doctor.. throwing up is not normal and you're very right to address it as a problem now: throwing up damages your digestive system, your throat, your teeth. I found some information on the internet, describing a possible medical problem with your symptoms:

"many children who spit up frequently end up having gastroesophageal reflux (GER). GER is when stomach acid comes back up the esophagus. When the acid gets up to the top of the esophagus it can trigger gagging."

Consult a dietician, if not a doctor, before changing any of your food consumption habits or taking any off-the-counter medicine; your conditions may worsen if you don't identify your problem correctly.

Ugh, that sounds very uncomfortable...I had terrible acid reflux when I was pregnant for the first time in my life (don't have it now, thank God) and it was very upsetting!

It sounds like acid reflux or indigestion, perhaps you are sensitive to acidic foods...I'm just starting to learn about alkaline and acidic foods and their effect on the body. Maybe give the source I've listed a look to see if your diet is high in the acidic foods, try switching your diet to more alkaline types of foods to see if there's a difference. Stay away from sugar and soft drinks too, (if caffienated, you might experience withdrawal for a short time -see third source) I think you might be pleasantly surprised...drink at least one glass of room temperature water with lemon every day, preferably in the morning...it's so good for your health. If your symptoms are really bad, see a doctor, but beware that most will just write an RX and that's it...good luck, hope you feel better soon!

definitely sounds like GERD- check it out with a Dr. to help for now:
eat in small doses
don't lay down after eating for approx one hour
avoid eating spicy /gasey (beans etc) foods

Acid reflux. It also might help if you stop swallowing it and spit it out instead Try some peppermint gum or mint candy that helps alot of people with acid reflux disorders,if that doesn't help then you should see a doctor.
