Does anyone know about TMD...Temporomandibular disorders?

I went to the doc today complaining of pain all over my mouth and jaw especially after I eat..they checked me out and diagnosed TMD...they say a mouth guard at night should help with my symptoms...anyone else have this and use a mouth guard? Did it help? Thanks in advance.

"bite plane" or mouth guard is the first and best treatment. When that does not help, a visit with an oral surgeon or a maxillofacial surgeon is the next step. Very annoying problem... Good luck!

They prescribed one for my daughter, because they thought she was clinching her jaws or grinding her teeth and causing migraines.===

my physical therapy place specializes in this kind of treatment. We're in the US. Search for physical therapy places in your area and ask if they have treated this type of orofacial pain.

Yes I had/have this problem. I was clenching my jaw in my sleep and was getting terrible headaches and my jaw would click when I opened my mouth too wide. The mouthguard does help.
