Bump dangling under tongue?

I have a red, uncomfortable, sometimes painful bump under the tongue. Its not really a bump but looks like a small red growth dangling under there. Could it be a mouth injury or a disorder/disease? I have never smoked a day in my life and have decent oral hygiene. Should i go to the dentist or doc or just wait it out?

I'm sure its nothing much but if you are in pain I would see a doctor. But I wouldn't go to a dentist, go to an ear, nose, and throat doctor. If you don't want to see a doctor I would try a mild pain reliever or anti-inflammatory and see if that makes the bump go down.

Go to the dentist. Probably nothing major but better safe than sorry.
