How do ppl w/ anorexia bulimia make themselves vomit? |
i no that they put their finger into their mouth, but which part of the mouth and what do they do? any diagrams u can show me the link 2? i have this presentation about eating disorders so i'd like serious answers. thanx http://www.mamashealth.com/bulimia.asp what do you mean what part of the mouth? they just stick there finger or any object, as far down their throat as possible, the gag reflex makes you vomit. u know that little sac at the back of your throat, they stick their finger way back there to it. that is the gag reflex. but over time they don't even have to do that, it comes naturally , which is what makes it really bad and hard to stop well i do know that salt water, as well as bicarbonate powder in water, induce vomiting. and i'm not quite sure bout this but possibly milk and egg whites? My daughter still battles with this disease.;In the beginning she put her fingers as far back in the center of her mouth as she could. After a while the gagging reflex was so easily triggered that she started leaving bite marks on the back of her hand from gagging herself. By the time she had been doing it a year, she could gag herself just using her tongue. I was bulimic for years and not once did I use my finger. I'm not going to go into detail because it's a nasty, deadly disorder that's easy to get sucked into, but you'd be surprised how bulimics/anorexics make themselves throw up. Many can vomit on command without the use of their finger or whatever else. |
