Mosquito bites!!!?

whats the best way to repell mozzy's? am going on holliday tomorrow & am fed up with lookin like a pizza within three days!!!

My daughter is 3 and suffers horribly from insect bites whether here or abroad. She always has one of the insect repelling plugs on in her bedroom and I spray her bedding once a week with child friendly insect repellant.

best thing is the insect repellant spray on's, citronella candles if you're sitting out at night and a plug in! dont' rely on suntan lotions that say they have insect repellant, they don't work!

Also if you are unfortuanate enuf to get bitten, take some lavender oil with you. put a few drops in a cup of water and dab it on the bite with cotton wool. it takes the sting and itch right out of it!

Go to Wal-Mart or wherever you shop at and get a can of OFF! bug repellent. Its the best I've ever used!

This may sound weird..but a few friends of mine have been away (different places) and have always used avon body lotion...apparently there is an ingredient that repells them...

Believe me, I tried everything when I moved to Mosquito Land. The best deterrent to those nasty little critters at bed time, is the good old mosquito coil found in most supermarkets. For daytime, just keep applying aeroguard. Have a safe and happy spot free holiday.

There is no sure fire mosquito repellent. However, you can make things easier for yourself by wearing long-sleeved shirts and long trousers or slacks. Also, wear a hat, preferably one with a broad brim - the grass summer hat type.

You did not say which country you are visiting. This is important, since the variety of mosquito differs around the Globe.

Here in UK if you get bitten by a mozzy the chances are all you'd get is an itchy spot for a short while.

My Notes: we've even got our very own variety of mozzy down the London Underground [the tube] right here in mad London. Avoid the tube.

You can now purchase deet which is almost guaranteed to repel mozzies. You have to moisturise your body before application. Do not use anything perfumed as this only attracts them. Don't wear dark clothing. Most of the plugins are ineffective if you have airconditioning. If you have airconditioning, keep it on all night as they don't like the cold. Have a great holiday!!!
