Mosquito bites or what? |
Ok, I have a very sneaky suspicion I'm just going into over protective mommy mode, but my son is having a real problem with what appears to be mosquito bites. He's got one on each leg (no biggie) and then 7 on one tiny arm! They're warm to the touch, have a hard little knot inside them and range in size from a little bigger than a pin prick to about 1/2 an inch wide. At first they looked like they were getting some kind of pus-head looking thing on them, but I put some hydrocortizone cream on it and it went away and now they look like normal skeeter bites. I don't think they're bothering him until he bumps them and then he says they hurt. I don't know. I hate stuff like this, LOL. I think if they get worse looking I'll take him in, but I'm not thinking they need any kind of medical attention. My MIL was worried when I told her they were warm to the touch, but I think most mosquito bites start out that way, don't they? His bedroom is very clean, nothing under his bed or on his floor, his sheets are changed frequently and were just changed yesterday, so I don't know if there's a spider living someplace or what, but I don't think it's from anything being dirty. check out where he sleeps, they are niot mosquito bites if he has 7 in the same place. theres probably some spider or tick or something biting him, try cleaning where he sleeps or make him sleep somewhere else for a couple of nights, and when u move him back hopefully everything will b alright. obviously, if they get worse, take him to the medic right away. i hate mosquitos I have never known of a mosquito bite to be warm to the touch. You should take him to the dr. especially since he says they hurt. They are probably mosquito bites. Normally they start out warm to the touch, hurt when they are bumped and can range in size depending on how much you scratch them. Dont worry. If they dont go away take him to the doctor. Get it checked. they could possibly be mosquitoes. they tend to bite younger children and those with lighter skin (because they have thinner skin). and also some people react differently to the bites or are allegic to them. well it could be mosquito bite and it also could be chiggers most times chiggers bite from under the skin the more you scratch the more they bite. but if it is mosquito bites just put a lil achohol on them then the cream make sure he doesnt scratch them or it will get worst. and might turn into ringworm thats gross but if it gets worst you should go to the doctor Well i hate to say this but it sounds like the chicken pox to me.. my kids all had them even though they had the chicken pox shot.. With the shot they dont get too bad.. aloe vera will cool the site of the bite; it does sound like some kind of bug bite; if it spreads or he gets other symptoms as well, take him to the ER. |
