Mononucleosis question.?

Hello, i have been very sick the last past 17 weeks. I went to the doctor and he said i had mono. He did blood tests, and found out that it was mono. Well i was dizzy, and thats alot better, but the mono is not as bad as before, but my stomache feels so full, so i was wondering if mono could cause this? Also my stomache feels very full right up under my rib cage, and i get very sharp pains up under my rip cage, and it feels like VERY STRONG heart burn or something, like it feels like it affects my heart almost, so can mononucleosis cause me to feel this way?

Mono causes your spleen to enlarge. This is why you are having these symptoms.'It would be a good idea to call your doctor and make certain that it isn't overly enlarged.
DO protect your abdomen from any injury.

get your a$$ to a hospital...and quick!

It a side effect of your medication. It will go away.

I don't know if mono causes the pain, but I can tell you that if it is gas, laying on your right side will help.

Peace!

I have NOOO idea what that is but you shall be in my prayers and I hope you feel better and get over it... May god bless you

Mono can be in any of your glands, and there are glands in your stomach. I had mono in my stomach and I was very sick. It takes a long time to come back from mono. You could start taking acidophiles and vitamin C. These will speed your recovery by helping to build your immune system up again as mono attacks your immune system and is the result of low white blood count. I'm surprised the doctor didn't talk to you and give you more info about this disease. Go to Google and read up on it yourself.
I hope you get better really soon.

It may be your spleen. With mono your spleen enlarges and this can be dangerous if you get any trauma to the stomach. The spleen filters blood and it can rupture or burst with mono. if any trauma occurs. You need to see your Dr. just to make sure everything is OK. Mono takes awhile to get over. Rest is the main thing you can do and drink a lot of fluids.

You need to get to a doctor. The pain you feel could be your spleen is about to rupture. I read up on mono and it described pain right under the rib cage and by the heart. Don't put it off!http://www.wcu.edu/studentd/hlthserv/mon...

Go to this web -site, don't miss the paragraph about "complications it describes the rupturing spleen.
