I need informations! mononucleosis tonsils are swollen keeps on coming back!? |
I have had swollen tonsils at least 4 times a year sometimes with sometimes without fever. my doc. diagnosed mononucleosis a year ago. whenever i had stress it seemed to break out. well, now a year later i still keep on getting it with step trought. took antibiotics also. how come? i live much healthier now. stopped smoking, eat mostly vegetables, take lots of vitamins but no anti-bodies. Am I the only person on earth that has it for a year and doesnt built anti-bodies? my boyfriend- parents- familiy didn t get it and none of them ever had mononucleosis i guess! went to other doctors they all said the same. Can I take my tonsils out? Will it come back then? What can I do or shall I do? Keep on getting it every 3 weeks lately and my body can t handle it anymore plus soon i ll might get sacked if this keeps on going ahead that way. (me being sick all the time) I would seek out a new physician ...preferrably experienced with either internal medicine or ears nose and throat. Mono is something that just lingers and lingers when the bodies immune system is low. did the dr test for mono? if not, maybe it's an inaccurate diagnosis. if he/she did with + results, might need to take low-dose steroids to reduce inflammation of your tonsils. i'd certainly think about seeing another dr... infectious disease or internal med Get those tonsils taken out! My daughter missed 28 days of her Junior year in HS from mono. Should probably get a strep test or an Epstein-Barr bloodwork done. Her pediatrician suggested her tonsils out. Careful if you're an adult, tonsillectomies can be fatal (bloodloss) in adults. Choose your Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon carefully. Good luck. Mono is a virus, and Strep is a bacteria. If you're being treated for strep throat with antibiotics it probably has nothing to do with the mono you had a year ago. I also had mono, and it lasted for about a month, although the fatigue lasted much longer. My sister also had reoccuring strep throat, and had her tonsils removed. She's never had a problem since. God Bless Sometimes some people never feel quite as well after having mono with strep throat. But recurrent tonsil infections do occur. |
