My dorm roomate has Mononucleosis (mono), ways to prevent it? |
Mononucleosis a virus with signs of fever, sore throat, headaches. Known as the kissing disease passed through saliva and shared utensils. We dont share utensils neither kiss, however, what other precautions should I take. "better safe than sorry." I researched it already. Looking for people who knows about it. She is only contagious while she has active symptoms and she will be a carrier for life and she will also have an active episode about the same time every year. Do not share anything with her and keep lots of clorox wipes and hand sanitizer in the house. Use good hand washing all the time. * Don't kiss or share dishes or eating utensils with someone who has mono. (A brief kiss on the lips is not likely to spread EBV; it is spread when saliva from an infected person enters another person's mouth.) As Mononucleosis is passed through body fluids, especially saliva, you may want to check any/all of the following. i think as long as you dont touch anything your roommate has salivated on you will be ok. jsut watch out for coughs and sneezes that can contaminate anything of yours just don't kiss or share soda's spoons forks ect.. and you should be okay. |
