Can you get Mononucleosis from an infected person's coughing? |
Today I had a client in my office for over an hour. He kept coughing and coughing during the meeting. As he left he complained he hadn't been able to work all week because he has Mononucleosis. I am upset that sick, contagious people expose other people to their illness without warning! 1. Mono is quite contagious. Also called as "kissing disease" as it was traditionally seen to spread via close personal contact. However, it is a viral illness & is air borne "The virus can be transmitted in other ways, such drinking from the same glass or can as an infected person, or even being close when the person coughs or sneezes" See the link. one its contagious..but there are two different kinds..there is the kind you can get from kissing someone doorknobs etc..but there is also the airborne kind....since he didnt say which he had...i would call him and ask him to be quite honest...i would hope he would know he shouldnt be in public at all if he had that type...i think you disinfecting everything will be fine ...you should get some germx. so any coughing people can use it before using pens or anything else in common in your office |
