Patophysiology for infectious mononucleosis?


patophysiology format in infectious mononucleosis

It is caused by a virus called Epstein Barr virus.This disease is also called as "Kissing Disease" because it is very contagious.The host having the virus may or may not show symptoms for reasons unknown.Its symptoms are generally like that of flu virus :
Incubation period of 3-5 weeks .
Malaise , fever with headache , inflammation of tossills , lymph nodes will be commonly seen,. In some cases hepatomegaly or splenomegaly will be observed. In rare cases meningitis can also be found .
