Can mononucleosis cause a low level of lymphocytes? |
Can mononucleosis cause a low level of lymphocytes? Mononucleosis typically causes an increase in lymphocytes (lymphocytosis). There is also an increase in lymphocytes that aren't quite normal (atypical lymphocytosis). These are seen when your physician orders a complete blood count (which is performed by machine) with a manual differential (someone actually looks at the cells under a microscope and does a count). |
