Can Infectious mononucleosis (also known as the kissing disease and mono) be cured?

Your immune system will fight it, like fighting a flu.
I don't think anyone has developed an antiviral drug that can fight it.

Colie caught in on MTV's Real World Denver and got really sick. They gave her antibiotics and told her not to drink behind or kiss anyone until it goes away. I'm pretty sure it can be cured but I definitely do not want to test that theory. Happy Kissing!!

theres no medicine for it. you have to rest alot, maintain a healthy diet no matter how unhungry you are. your gonna have it atleast for 2 or 3 weeks. when its gone do not do any heavy sports or anying like wrestling or soccer etc. because one of your organs can start bleeding and need emergency surgery.

It is a viral illness. It is self- limited. There is no specific treatment.

well, it depends on a normal case (about 6 months) or a chronic case (bad or worse/off and on through out a life) my son has chronic mono. if you were to look at his blood lab while not so active, the antibodies will show slightly elevated...when he is in a flare up they are in total abundance and his antibody level is very high (the same thing with white and red cell counts)
