Just had moles shaved off - WHAT is the purple stuff they put on it??

I just had three moles shaved off to be biopsied, one is rather large --

When I removed the bandages, There is all this purple ink (looking stuff) on and around the areas....

What is it? I thought it was iodine, until I removed the bandages and saw it was purple not red.....

also, will it all come out of the raw area where the mole came off?? Or could it get trapped there and leave like a purple dot tattoo??

very curious, although I do trust the doctor! :)

also I was told to "remove the bandage tonight and clean twice a day with alcohol or peroxide"

I did not think to ask whether I should replace the bandage and keep it covered (So I did clean and replace the bandages)

Should I cover or uncover?
and also should I use Neosporin after cleaning or no??

it's ok ...
the 'purple' thing will go off ..
