Question about moles? |
I have a couple of moles on my face. One is starting to stick out a little. The other one is flat but I don't like it. What is the procedure for removing a mole? Does it have to be cancerous for insurance to cover the removal? Any time you notice a change in a mole (size, shape, color, etc...) you need to get it checked out. U would have to call your insurance company and find out if it is covered. I think they can laser them off but i heard it can get expensive to do that. You'd probably have to check with your insurance company. I'd get to a dermatologist, too. Good luck! No, they don't have to be cancerous. See a dermatologist, they can help you. If the moles are embarassing, then you can claim the severly affect your mental health, and the insurance must cover. I had some removed, one near my eye was burned, fell off a month later, the rest were cut out, but these were sent to a lab. to check for cancer. I had to pay for it myself, but the cost wasn't bad. No, it doesn't have to be cancerous to be removed. It is generally covered by insurance...but check with your doctor. They will just give you a local anesthetic and remove it, not too hard. Then just keep neosporin on it, this will help it to heal and keep it from scarring. i almost wouldnt get one removed--- i am a vogue model and had gotten one removed from my leg and i now regret it= it scarred (i dunno how to spell scar=ed lol) |
