Moles and skin cancer?

why does having a lot of moles increase your risk of getting skin cancer? on a molecular level, what exactly happens to the cells, is it a mutation?

HI ALI

Moles are usually caused by a lack of potassium and skin cancer is actually caused by toxins in the blood. Science calls it an unbalanced PH acidic body. When the body has too much toxins the body can create a cancer. Lack of water, nutrition, too much stress, not active enough, etc. These are the basics of life and when we abuse or take for granted any of these we could cause a disease like cancer.

Always do your own research on information (even mine) before you believe anything in the media or propoganda.

best of health to you

That's not exactly correct. Normal moles are unrelated to skin cancer. But abnormal moles, or dysplastic nevi, are more likely than other parts of the skin to evolve into cancer.

It's hard to tell early pre-cancerous moles from normal moles. On a person with very few moles, doing a biopsy is feasible. But on a person who has hundreds of moles, the examination for those that are abnormal can be very difficult. So, it is more likely that skin cancer in a person with a lot of moles might be more advanced when it's detected.

Science doesn't fully understand cancer because it can be occupation- as well as heredity-related as well as sun, tobacco, radiation and nutrition-related. But if one sees discoloration toward black, have checked as is likely going cancerous. It's good to have someone check the areas you can't see at least once a year.

Having moles can increase your risk of getting skin cancer because those moles are more likely to change than people that do not have them. When people develop cancer their body undergoes a series of mutations which causes the body to be unable to undergo apoptosis, a process by which the body kills mutated cells. There are a ton of different mutations in different proteins that I won't go into detail about because without a strong background in microbiology, immunology and eukaryotic cell biology you wouldn't understand. But yes, it's a series of mutations where the body becomes unable to kill the bad cells. If you have a lot of moles, like myself, then you should be seeing a dermatology at least yearly for a check of all your moles.
