If I stay in a basement which has molds in it for long periods of time will that affect my health?

I have decided to study in my basement which is finished and didn't have problems with molds/mildew but there's a distinctive smell down there and I know it's molds, will staying there the whole day for a few months affect my health in any way?

If the smell is bothering or affecting you, then I would find a different place to study. Mold is a very potent article, and many people are allergic to it. My grandparents had to move out of their trailer home, because underneath there was tons of mold, under the trailer. They were not even exposed to underneath, and it made my grandma sick. It is also not healthy for you to breathe it in, especially if you are down there all day.

If it is mold it very well may have an affect on your respiratory sysmtem... mold can also get you very sick!

I myself have allergies to dust and mold. when its present I get stuffy and cough alot then triggers an Asthma Attack ,but that is me. You may want to ask a Doctor . I've heard that situations like after Hurricanes when there is flooding then mold and mildew are present then fungus. My car was once flooded in storm I started getting real sick!!!!!!!!!! Got rid of car.

yes it does effect health..If you are going to study down there,you should first bleach wash it down to kill the mold,and home remedy to cut the moisture causing the mold is charcoal briquettes. just fill a couple of bowls and sit them around in there.
