How long does it take to make a dental bridge when you take the molds?

I know they can prep the area and take the molds then how long for them to be made?

Depends on the lab. Ask your dentist. Typically two weeks or more.

here in bangalore, once we take the impressions, the lab takes 6 days n the bridge is tried on the 7th day n then fixed on the 8th.there are systems in the US where bridges can be made n delivered in a couple of hours.

If you need a bridge, you are missing some teeth. Do yourself a favor and go and see an implant specialist. A bridge will just eventually break, and then you will need a new one.

Its all dependent on the lab. It takes the dental lab just a few hours of work to do a complete bridge. But between transit time, waiting in line for other orders, work procastination (yes, lab techs are lazy just like the rest of us) it usually takes a week or two.

Here's a rough outline of what they do. They fill your mold in with a plaster like material which takes an hour to set. Then they do a wax up of the actual bridge, another hour or so. Then they convert it into the final material, roughly 2 ro 3 hours depending on what material you get. And then do the final trimmings and touch ups, probably less than an hour. These times are really rough, but its just to give you an idea. And like I said before, there's room for lag and procastination pretty much between every step.

for the actual work 40 minutes to wax up, an hour in the oven to heat up then the mold, then its casted with appropriate metal and cools for about 40 minutes then its polished. Porcelain on metal crowns take more time. Average is Less than 4 hours and its all done. But like the others said your bridge isn't the only one the lab has, and is busy working on. Turn around should be 5 days.

implants are a good idea but there are complications with insertion and the retentive screws, i've heard fracturing stories because of over tightening and improper design both with the restoration and with the jaw itself. One missing tooth not really worth implant. 4 or more missing teeth puts lots of stress on the bridge especially the posterior sections where most of the bitting force is located.

it take one day, minimum. If you know the lab guy. Take the impression , the next day it will be ready, thats for a metal bridge & for a ceramic about two days.
